Climate Club: People-Powered Carbon Reduction Platform

Carbon emissions is the new, essential business metric. In the not so distant future, banks will use GHG emissions data in their underwriting process, employees will choose to work for companies based on it, and shareholders will hold companies accountable to it. In order to meet the ambitious (and absolutely necessary) goals of keeping our planet from burning, corporations will need new tools in their toolkit to track, manage, and report on their emissions. Not only will enterprises need to offset their carbon emissions with credits, but it will take a herculean effort within organizations to reduce emissions. That’s where Climate Club comes in. 

Founded by repeat entrepreneur Adam Braun and go to market guru Phil Charm, Climate Club’s mission is to be the carbon reduction platform for leading enterprise companies to drive sustainability outcomes across every department, team, and employee. Adam knows a thing or two about motivating large groups of people towards a shared goal from his time building Pencils for Promise which has built nearly 600 schools since he started it and scaling multiple ventures since then. He’s perfectly complemented by his former college roommate Phil who brings years of experience building out sales motions at Checkr, Gainsight, and Medallia. Climate Club is quickly becoming the essential tool in the Chief Sustainability Officer’s tech stack to translate the business objections of a company’s corporate emissions goals to action for employees. 

Here at XYZ, we believe that the next wave of enduring companies will be built in climate and this is a thesis we’ve invested heavily against in companies like Climate Club, Ample, Charm Industrial, Evergrow (and more to be announced). The most talented entrepreneurs like Adam and Phil are starting companies with the north star of saving our planet. Given our sector focus, we’ve gravitated towards companies building the next wave of fintech and enterprise applications in climate and will continue to do so.
