Hex: Driving Impact from Data
There are two things we love working with here at XYZ: Palantir alumni founders and multiplayer applications. Combine those two and you get something pretty special. That’s what we encountered with Hex.
Cofounders Barry, Glen, and Caitlin met at Palantir and we met them through the network. Not only did they have data expertise in spades, but they also brought a deep understanding of how inclusivity can enhance the power of data across an organization. Data has come a long way — the more sophisticated computing and modelling become, the more specialization within teams takes root, and the risk of siloed and fragmented workflows increases.
This is already a reality in most tech-forward companies. Hex is building the first fully collaborative data workspace to combat this. Teams can seamlessly go from idea to insight sharing on the platform while collaborating in real-time. Using data notebooks, first-class SQL support, and an all-new reactive compute engine, they can build interactive data apps and stories to share work. These features exemplify the multiplayer model we so love — sophisticated workflows retain their integrity while becoming more accessible to a broader population within an org — because guess what, data impacts everyone.
That’s why it’s no surprise to us that the Hex platform is already super-powering teams like Workrise, Glossier, AngelList, Human Interest, Whatnot, dbt Labs, and more. It’s also why we’re excited to announce that the team has raised $16M in Series A financing led by Redpoint Ventures, with participation from us and our good friends at Amplify Partners, Data Community Fund, Geometry, Operator Collective, Tokyo Black, and Vandelay Ventures.
