Pryzm: Federal Capture Intel for Contractors to Land Business Faster

Silicon Valley and the greater innovation engine in the U.S. have seen a recent and substantial rise in government-focused technology. In the last 18 months alone, billions of dollars have been invested and deployed by incumbents and upstarts alike in pursuit of contracts held by the federal government and the DoD. As we've seen in cycles past, whether you're pre- or post-"valley of death," the federal acquisition process is the Hydra that rears a new head just when you think you've mastered it.

At XYZ, our DNA is rooted in the US public sector, and we've supported dozens of companies in their efforts to sell into the Federal Government. From our lived experience, Federal Acquisition, known in the industry as Federal Capture, has historically been one of, if not the most challenging component of government-facing business development and go-to-market efforts. The obscure nature of contracts, contracting vehicles, and the processes they entail have made it hard for organizations to set strategy and make progress. The most effective teams that we've had the pleasure of working with leveraged their experience and every tool at their disposal to design the most robust capture strategy possible.

Now, Nick LaRovere, Matt Hawkins, David Istrati, Justin Deckert, Raj Kane, and the rest of the team at Pryzm have taken their own lived expertise from Palantir and Lockheed Martin and molded it into a comprehensive Federal Capture Intelligence tool. Pryzm enables so much speed, clarity, and efficiency, that the biggest customers in the space are sitting up and paying attention.

Pryzm gives teams a shared workspace to source, analyze, qualify, and prioritize opportunities in the most efficient interface on the market. To date, tooling in this industry has focused on building marketplaces that pair enterprises with relevant contracts available through public sources. SAM.gov and their copycats are the quintessential example of this. Where they miss the mark is that, for most Federal Capture, by the time an opportunity is posted publicly, you've likely missed the opportunity to win it.

Most federal proposals that represent meaningful dollars to a business are crafted with specific requirements in mind, and more often than not, those requirements are modeled in "partnership" with a specific business who is likely to win those proposals.

In today's landscape, the expedient and thoughtful acquisition of technology is becoming not just important but absolutely vital for national security. Customers like military autonomous vehicle maker Forterra, AFRL's Griffiss Institute, and ecosystem expert Decisive Point are already obsessed with Pryzm's intelligence tooling to design and execute their capture campaigns. Their innovative approach, rooted in full understanding of this complex market, positions them as the ideal team to address these critical needs at this pivotal moment in history.

With all of this progress and momentum in mind, we’re thrilled to lead Pryzm's $2M Pre-Seed funding round alongside Amplify LA, First In, and strategic angel investors like Scott Sanders, Chief Growth Officer at Forterra (and formerly Head of BD at Vannevar Labs and Anduril). This investment helps Pryzm lean into their market lead and support their ambitious goal of revolutionizing how companies engage with the federal government. In a market full of noise, the barometers that we rely on at XYZ are velocity of execution and customer love. This team has an abundance of both, and they're just getting started.
