LottieFiles: Motion Design That’s Accessible to All

Clearly, collaboration is our thing. Many of our investments center around enabling teams to get more quality work done together and faster. LottieFiles is no exception, democratizing access to best in class motion design and graphics animation. Not only does this help designers and developers speak the same language, but it also unlocks valuable time for what they are uniquely suited to do in the first place – pure, cutting edge creativity.

That’s why it’s no surprise to us that adoption for Lottie has been on fire, with users from over 135,000 companies globally, such as Google, TikTok, Disney, Uber, Airbnb and Netflix. These users are saving weeks by not having to code motion graphics individually for each platform they are designing for, whether it’s web, iOS, Android, or Windows (further solidifying our hypothesis that speed is everyone’s love language). With integrations into the most popular design tools like Adobe and Figma, the platform is delivering important collaborative functionalities without sacrificing scalability. Lottie is so lightweight that it can play up to 120 frames a second, making it a perfect replacement for any conventional format of yesteryear.

So not only do we believe in the power of collaboration across teams through better and faster tooling, we also believe that we are in the early innings of a design renaissance. Canva and Figma have been first movers, proving enterprise customer demand for platforms that deliver more than just historically simple and clunky design solutions. Lottie is leading the movement with motion and animation – the team’s ability to live in production environments brings a new angle to the space.

And they are doing this with stellar leadership at the helm. We first met cofounders Kshitij and Nattu, through our SEA advisor (and close friend) Piruze at Square Peg Capital who led their most recent $37M Series B fundraising. We couldn’t be more thrilled to participate in the round as Lottie solidifies their position as the leading motion graphics platform for designers and developers alike.
